They gave a idea that nowadays most of the chemical industries are implementing green principles so that we can attain sustainable civilization. They concluded that using rearrangement and addition reactions will help to attain sustainable civilization. They also gave examples of implementation in daily life like dry cleaning etc., They created awareness to all the students in college about this issue in a easy manner by their performance.
III B.Sc MPC-II Section Students performed a skit on “ Junk food Vs Organic food” under the guidance of Mrs.B.Anuradha from the department of Chemistry on 27th July 2017.
Junk foods are very Colourful and tasty but it is very harmful to our health , organic food is related to leaves, vegetables, fruits that are taken from the field without adding heavy chemicals in the foods. Unhealthy food choices such as fries and soft drinks are existing in our world today. Knowing that poses a threat to our health we should avoid them. Because healthy food leads to healthy living.
So Organic food is a better choice because it is healthy, better for Earth and better quality of food.Knowledge extension program was presented on 4th August 2016 by III B.Sc M.P.C(I) students under the guidance of Mrs.T.Rohini Kumari , Lecturer in Chemistry on “Essential elements in our body” .
The aim of this
programme was to make aware the students about the importance of macro and
micro elements which are very essential to the human body. They explained the
food sources, functions and the diseases caused by the deficiency of essential
elements carbon ,hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sodium, potassium, chlorine,
phosphorous etc., in an innovative manner i.e, the elemental ramp.
Knowledge extension
program was presented on 11th August 2016 by III B.Sc M.P.C(I) students
under the guidance of Dr.M.Rama , Lecturer in Chemistry on “Chemistry @ daily life .com ” .The aim
of this programme was to make aware the
students about the chemicals using in their daily life in the form of tooth
paste, soap, water bottles, cosmetics, noble metals, junk foods etc. and the
influence of chemicals which are
released in the human body especially during sleep, in dreams, during digestion
of food and cause media addiction
. These products having harmful
chemicals and cause lot of damage to human beings and environment also. So the
programme gave a message to students to
avoid harmful products in their daily life.

Knowledge Extension Program on “Energy Resources” on
18-06-2015
Conducted by Dr.G.Jyothi, Head of the Dept.of
Chemistry.
Planet Earth has enormous amounts of energy resources.
Usage of energy by Human beings gets back to several centuries. Energy is of
many kinds as electrical energy, kinetic energy, mechanical energy, chemical
energy etc.III B.Sc M.P.C students performed “Energy Resourses” dramatically to
the whole college under the able guidance of Dr.G.Jyothi, HOD of chemisty.
Students have explained about renewable and non-renewable energy sources in a
detailed manner. In addition to that energy resources were discussed under the
following modules. Energy from fossil fuels, Energy from Sun, Energy from Wind,
Energy from water, Energy from Biomass, Energy from Nuclear & other
sources. Finally the students concluded that the Earth has various sources of
energy. The non-renewable energy depletes very quickly due to the pressure of
population. Harnessing renewable energy is a prerequisite for our future
survival. The main theme of the extension program is “Saving Energy is nothing but Producing
Energy”.
KNOWLEDGE
EXTENSION PROGRAMME ON “COSMETIC CHEMISTRY” On 09-07-2015
We
the III B.Sc M.P.C- I students performed a knowledge extension programme on “
Cosmetic chemistry- the Science of looking good”
Cosmetics
helps us to clean and beautify the skin, hair ,nails and teeth. Cosmetics are
manufactured in a chemical process either on a small scale or large scale.
In
this extension we have presented the history and classification of cosmetics
the chemicals involved in the cosmetic products like deodorants , lipsticks,
lip gloss, eye shadows , eye liners, eye brow pencils , eye mascaras,

Extension Program on “E-Waste Management” on 31-07-2014
Conducted
by Dr.V.Naga Lakshmi, Dept.of Chemistry.
Electronic
waste or e-waste is one of the rapidly growing problems of the world. E-waste
comprises of a multitude of components, some containing toxic substances that
can have an adverse impact on human health and the environment if not handled
properly. In India, e-waste management assumes greater significance not only
due to the generation of its own e-waste but also because of the dumping of
e-waste from developed countries. This is coupled with India's lack of
appropriate infrastructure and procedures for its disposal and recycling. This
extension program by III B.Sc M.P.C(I) students under the guidance of Dr.V.Naga
Lakshmi provides a concise overview of current e-waste scenario, namely
magnitude of the problem, environmental and health hazards, current disposal
and recycling operations, existing legal framework and recommendations for zero
waste through 4R Principle (Reduce,Reuse,Recycle and Recovery).
Pigments
are materials that change the colour of transmitted or reflected light due to selective
wavelength absorption. The classification on the basis of colour is easier. In
this classification they are categorised as white pigment, transparent pigment and coloured pigment. Among
the white pigments white lead zinc.
An extension programme on Solar Energy The Ultimate Renewable
Resource was conducted by Mrs.K.J.Subhashini of Chemistry Department with
students of III B.Sc M.P.C. I section on 19-12-2014. Now a days the people feel
that usage of fossil fuels was causing lot of environmental pollution which
leads to global warming. to avoid pollution solar energy is the best source of
energy. it is easy ,affordable, accessible. solar energy is free.
